Meet Paul Short

We are incredibly excited to welcome Paul Short to our team! Paul joins us as an Escalation Engineer, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise that we are thrilled to have on board. Paul will be working closely with our Helpdesk Team. We are confident that he will quickly become an integral part of our team, contributing to our collective success.

We asked Paul a few questions about his career; read his answers below!

What led you to start your career in IT?

Paul: As a young person, my father would bring home computer magazines with BASIC programs in the back. My brothers and I would take turns copying the code into the computer. This was the age of when arcade games exploded onto the scene. Learning how to maintain computers was simply a natural extension of wanting to be a part of the geek culture at the time.

What do you enjoy most about working in the IT industry?

Paul: I consider IT to be an “enabling function”. In other words, no one buys a computer because they want to buy a computer. Just like no one buys a hammer because they want to buy a hammer. They want what the hammer can DO for them. Computers enable us to do more than automate math functions. They are the enabling feature that allows all of the best, emergent properties of humanity to express themselves.
